Thomas Olsen of Glostrup, Denmark, and Signe Jensen of Nørresundby, Denmark, now join the Swedish riders Hans Chen of Stockholm, Sweden, and Henrik Åkerstedt of Lidingö, Sweden, to head a Scandinavian contingent qualifying for June’s 800km 5-day unicycle event in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Thomas and Signe started their qualifier 11km west of Copenhagen, in Glostrup, and continued along the east coast north of Copenhagen in cold and windy conditions. The second day was also persistently cold and windy. Their route followed many dirt and gravel roadways and paths. A few kilometres from home Thomas’ Schlumpf unicycle frame fell apart. They ended the day with a few kilometres of walking. Thomas admitted to a guilty visit to BurgerKing in Copenhagen in the middle of their ride.
